That Good

I just finished proof reading an 8 1/2 page paper I wrote today. I don’t want to boast (because I’m not sure this is anything worth boasting about), but I am so good at bullshitting when I read it, I fooled myself. It really sounds like I know what I’m talking about.

The more important question is: Does everyone else think I sound like I know what I’m talking about?

What am I still writing for? Enough.

Isn’t it crazy how, no matter how old you are, a kiss makes everything better?

Ditto.

EA Sports needs to put Brett Favre on the cover of Madden ‘11 and just get it over with. The Madden Curse is the ONLY way Brett Favre is ever gonna retire. I swear on it.

Ummm are we forgetting this? And then this? And then this? I don’t think the Madden Curse is going to cut it.

The ‘09 cover isn’t legit at all, he didnt even play for Green Bay and had a pretty rough season (22 tds to 22 ints with an 81 passer rating isn’t hot shit). Besides. What did he do after the ‘08-‘09 season? Reeeeetire. That right there was the closest he’s been to being gone for good. Obviously he’s still playing now but hell, the world was oh so close to a Favreless NFL in ‘09, which just so happened to be the year he landed that bookie-ass Madden cover. If the cover of Madden ‘11 has Favre in purple it’ll be his last year. Guaranteed. Save this post and come back to it, please.

Side note: while it may be hard to believe based on previous statements, I don’t hate on Favre as a player. He’s a legend period. I just wish he’d retire. Thats all there is to it.

I want to believe you. It could be his last year. But if it is, it won’t be because of the Madden Curse, but because he’ll be going into his 20th season of pro football at 40 going on 41.

However, we’ve been through this song and dance how many times now? The only thing I expect from Brett Favre is indecision. Don’t think he wouldn’t pull a Michael Jordan and retire for a few years only to come back and try to play at 44 or 45. That’s the kind of audacity this guy has.

Will there ever be a Favreless NFL? I doubt it. I’m sure he’ll always be around in some capacity until the day he dies. And I don’t hate him either. But for his sake, for my sake, for the NFL’s sake, for the sake of us all, I wish he’d just retire.

Edit: This whole argument is moot anyway. Favre’s not going to be on the cover of Madden ‘11. Drew Brees or Adrian Peterson will be.

I don’t even think I would put them that high. But that’s beautiful. Now they just have to prove they deserve it.

“If you take the responsibility for your life you can start changing it. Slow will be the change, only in the course of time will you start; moving into the world of light and crystallization, but once you are crystallized you will know what real revolution is. Then share your revolution with others; it has to go that way, from heart to heart.” —Osho
